Facilities Closed, But Service Continues

All of the Palo Alto Library facilities will be closed on April 18th for a staff development day. But you can still access a number of great library services online, 24/7. Here is just a taste of what is available through the Resources Online page:

1. Download an audio book to listen to at home or in your car (Digital Books and Music)
2. Locate a great book based on what you just read (Novelist and Novelist K-8)
3. Read the entire New York Times for the day your grandparents were born (NY Times 1851-2004)
4. Find and read that interesting article you started at the dentist's office (General Reference Center Gold)
5. Share a picture book that reads to your child on the computer (TumbleBooks or BookFlix)

Enjoy these resources, and be sure to explore the many other subscriptions we offer with the use of your library card.

This is a busy week for the celebration Silicon Valley Reads, 2008 The Distant Land of My Father. The Friends of the Palo Alto Library are sponsoring a number of events this week, all of which can be found on the Palo Alto Reads blog. There are book discussions, free events and a talk with the author, Bo Caldwell. If you haven't joined the celebration, now is your chance!

• Plenty of programs for kids and teens - just check their blogs!
